The Graduate School was established as the Institute of Social Sciences, affiliated to Erciyes University Rectorate for the purpose of fulfilling the mission “to carry out high-level scientific studies and researches, to produce knowledge, to disseminate scientific data, and to contribute to the contemporary development on a national and universal scale as an institution providing graduate education and performing scientific researches and practices" according to the subparagraph "e" of the Article 25 of the Decree Law No. 41 published in the Official Gazette dated 20.07.1982 and numbered 17760.

The Graduate School started its first graduate education activities in June 1984 at the "Department of Business Administration" and the "Department of Islamic Civilization and Social Sciences". Our Graduate School has been continuing its services since 1997 on the second floor of the Nuri and Zekiye Has Institutes Building, which was built by the late Kadir HAS, a benevolent businessman.
